In a world that rarely pauses, finding true stillness can feel almost impossible. That’s where open pool flotation therapy comes in — a simple yet deeply effective way to disconnect from the noise and reconnect with yourself.
At being, we’ve reimagined flotation to feel more natural, open, and accessible — while still delivering all the powerful benefits this therapy is known for.
What Is Open Pool Flotation Therapy?
Flotation therapy involves lying effortlessly in a warm pool enriched with Epsom salts, allowing your body to float with zero effort. The high salt concentration creates buoyancy, meaning you’re fully supported — as if gravity has been switched off.
Unlike traditional enclosed float tanks, open pool flotation offers a more spacious, calming environment. There’s no feeling of confinement — just a quiet, open space where you can fully relax.
While it may feel like simple rest, flotation therapy works on multiple levels — physical, mental, and emotional.
When your body is fully supported and external stimuli are reduced, your nervous system can finally slow down. Flotation helps lower cortisol levels (the stress hormone), allowing your mind to settle and your body to enter a deeply restorative state.
Floating relieves pressure on joints and muscles, making it ideal for anyone dealing with tension, soreness, or chronic discomfort. The magnesium in Epsom salts may also help support muscle recovery and reduce inflammation.
Many people find that a single float session can improve sleep quality. By calming the mind and relaxing the body, floatation helps reset your natural sleep rhythms — making it easier to fall asleep and stay asleep.
With no distractions, your mind has space to breathe. Flotation can help improve focus, encourage creativity, and provide a rare moment of mental stillness in an otherwise busy world.
From reducing anxiety to supporting recovery after exercise, flotation therapy is a simple but powerful addition to any self-care routine.
At being, our open pool floatation experience is designed to help you feel at ease from the moment you arrive. Whether it’s your first time or part of your regular routine, you’ll find a space that allows you to fully let go.
Because sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do… is nothing at all.

60 minutes in the pool. Allow about 90 minutes total for your visit — that includes a pre-float shower, the float itself, and a second shower after to rinse the salt off.
Nothing. The room is private — just you, your pool, and a lockable door. Most guests float naked because anything you wear will get coated in salt, but it’s your call.
Around 500kg dissolved in the pool. The salt concentration is what gives you that no-effort, gravity-off feeling. The water is filtered between every session and the salt itself is naturally antibacterial. It’s safe to float on, safer for your skin than chlorinated water, and you can’t sink even if you fall asleep.
Yes. This is the main reason we built an open pool rather than a tank. The room has full headroom, your own lighting controls, and you can sit up or step out at any point. There’s no enclosure, no door to push open, no panic moment.
A few situations call for clearance from your GP first: open wounds or recent surgery, severe skin conditions, infectious illness, or first-trimester pregnancy. If you’re not sure, message us before booking.
Most regulars float every 1 to 4 weeks. You’ll feel something from your first session — usually a deeper sleep that night and a calmer head the next day. The compounding benefits (stress, recovery, sleep quality) tend to show up after three or four floats spaced a few weeks apart.
Yes, from the start of the second trimester, with clearance from your midwife. Many pregnant guests find floating one of the only ways to fully take the weight off their joints and spine. Avoid in the first trimester.
